Understanding is not the same as finishing.
A student can finish every assignment, turn in every worksheet, and understand almost none of it. Completion is easy to record. Understanding is harder to see.
A generic explanation can be technically correct and still fail to reach a particular kid. Yet the same material is handed to every learner regardless of background, reading level, motivation, or interest.
AI made it trivially easy to get answers. Easy answers are exactly what kills the thinking. A tool that completes the work may save a moment, but it takes away the struggle where learning happens.
GOCRATIQ was created because the opportunity is not more content. It is better questions, and instruction shaped around the individual learner while staying grounded in curriculum worth learning.

The people building it
Douglas McCabe
Founder & CEO
Douglas spent four decades building companies — construction, finance, national real estate services, asset management — the kind of work that rewards discipline and punishes wishful thinking. He is a graduate of Oregon State University’s School of Civil Engineering. He is spending this decade on schools instead. The through-line is the same one that ran through every company he built: strong organizations come from people who can think, and thinking is a thing you can teach. He calls this chapter “Douglas 2.0”. The ambition is a national movement in education, with youth entrepreneurship at its center.
Alexander Foster
Co-Founder, Product & AI
Alexander is a product strategist and AI systems architect. His work is turning unclear ideas into things that exist — offers, products, workflows, plans people can actually follow. His range covers digital marketing, operational systems, AI implementation, software product development and education technology. What he does on any given day is narrower than that list suggests: find what matters most, challenge the assumption everyone has stopped examining, and name the next five steps. It is a habit of mind the tutor is built to teach.
